In Oberwolfach, Germany, a Seminar about Mathematical Modeling in Systems Biology will take place from November 19 – 25 2017. It’s aimed at PhD students and PostDocs interested in the mathematical underpinnings of modeling molecular networks, providing background on the underlying theory and discussing its application.
The format of the seminar is a mixture of lectures and exercises, leaving also enough room to in-depth discussion, as is tradition for Oberwolfach activities. It will include tutorial courses and modeling exercises focusing on the following topics:
- different modeling paradigms for biological systems on the cellular level
- property conservation across formalisms
- parameter estimation and uncertainty quantification
